Memorial Day is a special one for me because my father and several other members of my family as well as close friends have served or are currently in the military. I truly respect all of those who have risked their lives for our country. My dad is coming to visit me here in Destin for the holiday, and I want to show him a great time because he definitely deserves it. Of course we'll spend some time soaking up the sun on the beach, but we also want to make sure to take advantage of all the great sales happening this weekend. My mother's birthday is coming up in June so I know my dad will probably want to check out the sale going on at Swarovski. So it's the first Easter for my daughter which gives me the perfect excuse to dress her up in an adorable outfit. I was on the quest for a coordinating outfit with her two year old brother because I only have a limited window of opportunity before they are allowed to have opinions about what they wear. My quest ended at The Children's Place where I was able to get Mady a precious periwinkle dress, white ruffle socks and cute shoes. They also had great linen suits (in khaki and navy) for boys, linen shirts and I was able to coordinate Brody with a periwinkle sweater vest. The restaurant is under new management now and Kyle and his team are terrific! My favorites are still there including the mouth-watering Tuscan Tomato Soup and their great "Create Your Own" combos. A great new twist to the menu is that they now offer flatbread pizzas, including Kickin BBQ Chicken, Zorba the Greek and Rustic Italian.
